Understanding: Chronic Pain in Neurodiversity
Overview
This 60-minute live webinar offers an accessible, neuro-affirming exploration of chronic pain and neurodiversity.
Chronic pain and acute pain are not the same — and they require very different ways of understanding and responding.
Neurodivergent people (including autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD individuals) experience chronic pain at higher rates, often influenced by differences in sensory processing, nervous system regulation, interoception, and cumulative life stress.
Participants will gain insight into:
- How chronic pain is different to acute pain
- Living with chronic pain & how it’s experienced as a neurodiverse person
- Understanding chronic pain cycle & behaviours
- Compassionate treatment that support pacing and regulation
Who this webinar is for:
• People living with chronic pain
• Neurodivergent individuals and their families or support people
• Clinicians and support workers seeking an affirming framework
